myPhone A868 Duo review
myPhone A868 Duo – I haven’t removed the plastic cover on the screen yet. LOL
The myPhone A868 runs on Android 2.3.6 GB out of the box. It sports a MediaTek MT6575 single-core CPU clocked at 1GHz. Matched with that is a PowerVR SGX531 GPU. This is the same processor and GPU chipset that I have with my ZOPO ZP100 which I had already tested that can play HD games without any problems.
myPhone A868 Duo system
It has 512MB of RAM on board, again same as my ZOPO ZP100. This amount of RAM is enough to play any games or do seamless multi-tasking and keep a couple of apps running at the same time. Also with this in thought, Android 4.0 ICS upgrade is possible for this.

The display is a 3.95-inch (or 4″) capacitive screen. It has a HVGA display with 320×480 pixels resolution. Display is not so good with that low pixels count, you cant expect much. Its not IPS as well, if you might ask.
lolwut? 2GHz clock speed? O.o
The internal memory is just 128MB. With a couple of pre-installed apps, and knowing that it is bundled with the system; you cannot move those and your left with a very little storage space. Thus you cannot use this phone well unless you know how to root it and be able to remove those apps and reinstall them on your SD cards. I tried rooting it using the posted tutorial on how to root the myPhone A858 but I cant seem to make it work though.
myPhone A868 Duo back
It has a 3.2 megapixels fixed-focus camera, without flash. The front camera is VGA. You cannot expect much with these snappers especially if you are a picture snapping addict as I find it hard to come up with really nice and clear pictures with this phone.

The battery is a 1600mAh Li-ion battery. On Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS, battery usage time is not a problem. It lasts for a day of regular usage even with 3G browsing. It has dual-SIM support and with 3G.

The CPU of the myPhone A868 is already a very much capable CPU, it is fast enough. Playing with the interface is fast and smooth. The touchscreen response is also good. I havent tried doing some game tests with this phone as I cant install them yet; I havent successfully rooted this thing yet. Had only tried Temple Run for ARMv7 yet and it plays out good, no lags, no crashe, no problems with the gyro sensor, everything is smooth as expected.

I am not ablet like the small internal storage of the myphone A868 Duo and the apps pre-installed with this. I do not use Viberr and its so sad that you cannot uninstall this app unless you get root. I also want to re-install and move the other social apps pre-installed here to optimize my internal memory usage but I just cant. Also, the screen is not that good. Im just sharing out my honest thoughts here.
MyPhone should offer this phone at a lower pricing so that it will still sell to many Pinoy consumers. I cant see how it will win against the Cherry Mobile Flare (better specs at lower price at Php3,999) now, but we don’t know what my|phone plans now so we can’t still say.
You might like to check out a better offer from myPhone, the myPhone A898 Duo and the upcoming myPhone A919 Duo.
