So here’s my short review of the myPhone A878. Well, basically the myPhone A898 is the upgraded version of the A878. The A878 has no 3G but the A898 has it. The overall looks and specs is just the same except for that 3G support capability, so you can somehow treat this as well as a myPhone A898 review too.
BTW, the my|phone A878 unit I used for this demonstration review is not mine. Once we get our own actual unit of the myPhone a878, myPhone a898 and myPhone a919; we’ll update you guys with more in-depth specific and technical review.

my|phone A878 Review
Just excuse the quality of images, I just used my phone’s camera and it cant really perform well at night. LOL
This is the myPhone A878 on my hand. The owner of the phone has MXHome Launcher installed that’s why the interface looks different, when it should be just your default ICS app drawer.
It has a flip leather cover by the way. Cool to know that myPhone really knows what the other stuff being considered by people on buying their gadgets; accessories. I think you can get this from official myPhone kiosks, or it might be free when you buy a unit now. Not sure about that though.
The plastic material used for the myPhone A878 shines, it doesnt feels like a cheap material is used here as well. Still the trademark of myPhone with the Philippine map is printed on the back. The body shape is just like an S3, circular on sides thus making a very easy grip, ergo-wise. You can see, the camera aligned on the side has 2 LEDs flash.
There’s this four soft-touch Android buttons here as well as you can see. Home, Options, Back and Search.
BTW here’s the basic information displayed from the “Settings -> About phone” menu. I then decided to install Antutu Benchmark app to this myPhone A878 to personally see how this dual-core phone performs. Below was the result:
Antutu Score: 5468. The myPhone A878 managed to score a whooping 5468. This is very far from my MT6575 single core ZOPO ZP100 phone which just scored a 3506 points on the same benchmarking tool. No surprise though as this one already has MT6577 dual core processor. HD gaming and high-quality multimedia playbacks isnt a problem with this dual-core device.
The myPhone A878 Duo has an impressive set of packaged specs. But I think that the myPhone A898 is more practical to get rather this one. You’ll just have to add Php500 and get the almost same phone but with 3G. As for me, I dont want to have an internet experience without 3G at least.
I think, in response to the competitive pricing of Android phones on the local commercial market; the pricing of the myPhone A878 and A898 will still go down. Added the fact that there is still this myPhone A919 coming our way.
That’s it for now. When we receive a A898 and A919 units, we’ll post another review article to share information and our impression on those phones.Search terms: a898 root, myphone a898 release date, a878 duo price, bug trick tm free internet android, cherry mobile flare vs starmobile astra
