The LG Optimus L3 has been launched recently and officially entered the Android smartphone’s race in the country. What I clearly see from this is; the Alcatel One Touch 918N and Samsung Galaxy Y now has another rival, and its the LG Optimus L3 priced at just very affordable P5,990 price mark.
I wasn’t able to be present at the recent event launch of this new LG Optimus baby, so I haven’t got the chance to touch one yet. Though the design looks pretty much clean, and simple; the trademark of LG, being squared enough as per the thought of the Nokia N9’s body struck my mind.
The Android 2.3.6 smartphone is runs with Optimus UI, packed with decent customization and branding. So its not just your typical Gingerbread phone.
This new LG Optimus L3 was offered in the Philippines with a price of just P5,9990. That was just about Php6K, almost same as the Samsung Galaxy Y and the Alcatel One Touch 918N. Is it a better buy? Well, let’s now look at its specs.
Here’s the basic specs of the LG Optimus L3:
- 3.2″ LCD @ 240×320 pixels
- 800MHz processor
- 1GB internal storage
- 384MB RAM
- up to 32GB via microsSD
- HSDPA 3.6Mbps
- WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
- Bluetooth 2.1
- 3.15MP camera
- GPS w/ aGPS
- Li-Ion 1500mAh
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Almost as similar as its previously showcased rivals. But what is its edge among those phones, as per being late in the release for the local market?
Report says, that the LG Optimus L3 sports an Adreno 220 GPU, which is not present on the Samsung Galaxy Y and the Alcatel 918N. With this taken into consideration, the L3 is just capable of running some HD games without even SuperCharging or using hardware hacks such as ChainFire3D. This just shows that the L3 is a better gaming Android phone, that is cheap.
Also, the other thing to note is; the LG Optimus L3 is chipped with an ARMv7 core chip, so basically its a newer chip and the Temple Run game for Android could run normally with it without effort.
I wish I could review more about this phone sooner or later. I still can’t say which is best among those 3 entry-level affordable Android smartphones. Though I am somewhat convinced with the L3 having GPU, still there is much more to consider.
Some even hates its design, and comparing that it is better than the Galaxy Young. I do not know what to hate with the design. For me the design is just decently fine and what’s good with it is; it comes with different colors, white version being released in the near future.
I wonder how owners of Alcatel 918N and Samsung Galaxy Y will react to this late release of LG Optimus L-series baby.Search terms: LG L3, lg optimus l3, lg optimus l3 e400, optimus l3, lg optimus l3 price philippines 2012, lg optimus l3 price, lg optimus l3 price philippines, lg l3 price philippines, LG Maximo L3, lg l3 price
